Supportive and confortable BUT after 2 months it started breaking apart .. and the local customer support was lousy to say the least .. Cheap materials in my personal opinion ! Please note the shoe had been running 1/2 small (even noted on Brooks website for the 15s so keep that in mind when trying on). Whatever improvements they made are destroying my back. I have had the Cadence since around July last year and they have probably gone past their best. I did not get a chance to run in the 14s so cant directly compare. Fri my arch felt a little tender on the on the right during the few hours of break in and I thought it was just my flat feet getting used to the support. The Ravenna 6 is going to be good if you are looking for a quality training shoe and need a touch of stability for over-pronation where the GTS 15 will be good is you are more of a moderate over-pronation. But strangely, after only a few days of running in them, my left big toe has started to feel stiff so that I land flat-footed and cant push off on it. The shoes are similar in how they feel, how they perform, but Brooks has slight edge in my opinion. Flex grooves for more freedom of movement. I would recommend that you pick a truly neutral shoe that fits your gait if that is what you need. A quick reminder it runs a 1/2 small, but go try on a pair in a local running store and walk around, I think you will immediately feel the good arch support and the stability the shoe offers. I dont believe that these shoes are gender specific (some are). It seems that the 15 goes up slightly higher on my heel. I use the Nikes on short runs (<4 miles) and to build overall musculoskeletal strength(due to their lack of cushioning). This rollbar additionally assists those runners who tend to pronate during their foot strike. After running a half in the 15s a second time I had the worst foot and knee pain. So you should be ok. And I am glad they worked for you and you found a pair to put lots of miles on. Was training for a half and decided to get another pair but as I was breaking into a new pair of Kayano it gave me shin splits. There have been some major updates with this latest version of the Adrenaline GTS which build on the solid history of its predecessors. With a marathon coming up, you definitely dont want to risk injury and if the 14s work, those are a good choice. I use the Brooks for anything longer than 5 miles. The NB 870 v3 might be an option for you but I think the Brooks GTS 15 is a better shoe but again with your flat feet that will be a huge deciding factor. They promised to get to me pertaining this matter yet today I heard nothing from nothing from lazy and irresponsible people ( key power ) They just garbage my email in and garbage it out . However, I dont think that Brooks on one of their flagship shoes would adjust the size down 1/2 size to compensate for weight. They both weight around 11oz. My suggestion would be before you take them back go into your local running store, see if they think you should be in a more neutral shoe or a shoe with some added stability as the GTS 15 will assist with pronation (could cause some muscles to react different then use to.. just a possibility). I had switch to Asics GT 2000 and Saucony iso triumph , all I can said they it remind me the GTS 12 and 13 . I clocked only 35 miles the heel pad wear severely . To my shocking the heel pad wear severely after 30 miles . View cart for details. It was too stiff (despite using the Mizuno Wave Inspire 8/9/10 series with great results, and the Kayano 19/20, a softer shoe).
The Sole and upper has changed over the past two years and it sounds like this change was not one your feet agreed with. I havent heard of many having issues with the toe box or giving out but let me know if you experience the same with the 14s. I am hopeful this will be changed in the next version but overall this did not affect the performance or quality of the Adrenaline GTS 15, just something runners need to keep in mind. Thanks for the questions and comments on how they are working for you. Thanks for the comments and feedback. Thanks for the update on your experience with the GTS 15s.
