gurney's newport spa packages

Potatoes finger fries was authentic. No response to the email. Wat a pleasure it is to live next to this hotel. Being a business owner, I would think twice about the customer service you are providing to your guests. My top spot for amazing sunsets, service and overall experience is gurneys in Newport. Thankfully they have that going for them We had several disappointments. The inside of the hotel as well as the rooms are very modern and well kept. gurneysresorts gurney seawater Or room overlooked the water at sunset and it was beautiful. The carpet lips where they meet tile or wood are poorly executed and potentially dangerous. The room was spotless and had everything a person could ask for in a hotel. Great atmosphere and food. newport hotels ri resort gurneys gurney marina She explained that shes been trying but nobody answers and the guy gave her an attitude. The heating system had two thermostats in each room, it took us a bit but we realized one didnt function and the other did. My mother and I are local to Newport and during the week they offer a discount to residents for services. If you try organize something special the staff will fail you. If I would have payed that much in season for this room I would have been very disappointed. Nice views and great bar. Its beautiful and fun to ice skate outside. Good food, good drinks trendy atmosphere, worth the trip. Awesome atmosphere. Rooms: 2 full sized beds.Very small. Pool area is nice, cabanas are 550 which is laughable. Try to get a table with a firepit - they looked so cool! The waiter was very knowledgeable. $22 for a weak drink. Talk about unwelcoming.

Yummy ???? We have been going to them for years now, and they always do an awesome job. I honestly hope the room was even cleaned. Very expensive! Beautiful pool and lawn area. For $800++ a night I expect more and so should you. Absolutely stunning. Beautiful place with the most humble people ever. Bring your wallet as the meals are expensive. Overall, would highly recommend for a tour of Newport. By the end of my two day stay, I knew my room neighbors by name, what they had for dinner, that they hated their office job, etc. If I could do it all over again, I would in a heartbeat and would not change a thing! Recieved an upgraded view room - corner king on a high floor of the tower NICE! Toilets take two flushes too. The staff is friendly, food is great and the views from the rooms are amazing. The food was awesome!! If you want to take a seat in the grass to watch boats going past, to just have that quiet time alone or have a drink, this is the place. It was stale and gross. Chef Jacksons cooking was the best part of our stay. Rates are a bit pricey but overall a great experience. There's a lighthouse, hammocks, adirondack chairs, goat house, pool with cocktail servers, outdoor bar with fire pits, and outdoor restaurant right by the pool. You can do better, Gurneys! Other guests walked in no prob apparently we could have gone in to use the pool just the chairs was the issue BUT. Mild irritants include non-working faucets or a lack of paper towels for drying hands in the restroom. Food was great. The rooms are spacious and beds very comfortable, but the decor needs updating. I eventually got so frustrated to the point that I asked for a refund and was gonna go to another hotel but then from the heavens above , the room gods bestowed a magical room on the assistant managers screen poof she said oh I can move you to a king room with a sofa I mean why are these people so difficult here ??? Best view , plenty of space , great cocktails. What a great place. The small ice skating rink--photo worthy and appointed with benches and skating bears--is there to get your winter fill of cold outdoor fun. Although the menu is limited, it is excellent and well appointed. Perfect get away! Clean facility. An ice cold drink by the fire pits. This hotel is not 4 star. Beautiful ambience, delicious food, and impeccable service. That didn't happen.. ended up on the 3rd ordered room service for breakfast and a mid afternoon snack prior to dinner. They still had a poor bartender out there with a full bar. Salmon dish was incredible. Obviously the outdoor pool was closed. Everyone was very friendly and nice. We stayed at the Gurney's in Montauk a few years ago. 1. Beautifully maintained resort inside and out with amazing views. It was not cute. Love the spa here! Hidden gem of a resort off the coast of Newport RI, called Goat island. old rooms that they rooms be charging $900 a night despite the nice water views. While we did enjoy our stay in Newport, we would not stay at Guerneys again. Hotel. He was handling the pool during our stay and simply was frustrating. Oh and needs a makeover. We were on the 3rd floor with a corner double view of the valet parking station, and therefore had to keep the curtains drawn for the duration of our stay (blackout shades only, no sheer privacy curtain to be found). We had a 9:00 reservation and they were in a big rush to get us out. Great venue, drinks and food are amazing. David Smiley was most accommodating. Instead of honoring the agreement, they most definitely gave away my treatment reservation to another person. Very little here that is suitable for a non seafood eater / less rich foods. Great service from the hotel staff. We had a fabulous room, with a view of the harbor and the bridge. Every space, room, and corner is clean, attractive, and fits the theme. They are doing what needs to be done, masks in public, social distancing everywhererestaurants, patio, gym & pool. Working on Thanksgiving is never fun but we appreciate your being here so we could enjoy. Booked 3 nights for me and my wife at this hotel after reading reviews. Couch not comfortable at all ,beds are ok. More space in the partitioned ballroom could have been allotted to one of the events we attended, due to its popularity. She was very attentive (as best she could be) and the food was actually very tasty. What if she needed that for the dress? this is not new yorks central park zoo. Great for R & R & much, much more! and a turn off. All of the picnic tables were empty. Broken toilet. We also blew a fuse and it took 1.5 hours to get it fixed so couldn't get ready. One morning there was no hot water. The other reason I dropped a star was the room. Stopped in to take pics of that fabulous ice skating rink right next to the ocean and that darling lighthouse. The manager was excellent and worked with me throughout the entire process. I travel extensively for work and usually stay in hotels of average quality the hotel quality here is on par with with places that cost about $150 even in expensive cities. Beautiful setting, great staff and fantastic amenities. Food served is okay, average by hotel standards. I absolutely loved shooting there. The hotel is east to navigate, and the amenities such as the outdoor pool are amazing. 4. I never wanted to leave. But what was mostly disappointing was the uncleaned deck, umbrella's and exterior of the building itself. Standard king room (small, nothing fancy). Later in the evening, we found the vending machine only provides snacks, not soft drinks. I live locally and decided to come by last night with some friends. Service room is extremely overpriced. I recommended this to my airbnb host to suggest to future guests. The food is excellent. On the last night after complaining of the lack of hotel service we were accommodated for dining at the restaurant. He ate first while I waited for them to fix it and I ate second, once an hour later because we were so frustrated that the second time my burger came back completely raw we left and went somewhere else. We go up to our room excited to open the door to find out room to be just above a roof and facing the parking lot (if you like on the bed you can see a corner of the bay). We understand staffing is an issue everywhere. Not only did they clean the room extremely quickly, but they were fast to bring up a garment rack and spare vanity mirror when asked. The kicker to all this, my mother in law surprised us with a welcome gift of cookies and champagne which wasnt received until the end of the night after her scathing email and complaints. It was still there when we checked out 16 hours later. The Food & Beverage Director, along with another manager, were directly involved with and aware of this fiasco. Prices are out of proportion to the services provided. I MUST SAY DUE TO COVID RESTRICTIONS THERE WERE A FEW HICCUPS .WHEN I BROUGHT THEM UP TO MANAGEMENT THEY WERE ON IT !! Also the furniture needs serious updating. We will return here for sure. Right away was about 10-15 minutes later and with a hand held vacuum that died shortly into the attempt to clean the carpet. Incredible service all the way around. It was not worth the cost! Bar was a bit slow. ITS FINE. Its a 2-3 star at most. The food was excellent, try the angry lobster. The hotel has had some upgrades over the years, and it is generally in good stead. No USB ports, only 4 available outlets, ended up unplugging stuff to make sure we could charge everything. Rooms need major renovation. A delightful experience from start to finish. We went for dinner in Newport, and returned to settle the kids in for a movie. Just go somewhere else. Their alternative to their luxurious breakfast experience is a coffee bar open 9-12. Even with headphones on I could hear them talking! I will be back at Gurneys not only for their exquisite hotel, but top notch staff. The people at the front desk were very confused on the spring package we booked and three different people gave us different information on how to use our credits. They charged my card $300 as a hold without even mentioning a thing. We went here for dinner and visited the spa the next day. Lovely place. Rooms are okay. Instead they wanted to have me do the 50min spa treatment back to back, so it would take 2 hours. After some discussion a room was cleaned and we were able to check into the room we had paid for. Our room wasn't ready for check in until 5:30pm. All we wanted was to take a nap before our evening function. Arlene did mention that Mon-Thurs the spa gives a 20% discount on all there services, so something to consider when booking. Thank you Gurneys for a great week of fun. The firepit lounge was great. They send you to a deck, but theres no servers there. Our server visited once to take our food and drink order and we didn't see him again for an hour. Arrived 2:30 am after driving for hours from nyc and was notified that they cant figure out how I my reservation got in there they cant find a room for me. Cute location & great views. This place is beautiful, the location. The coffee shop was nice and their scones were delicious. And not to sound too particular, but please evaluate the dresser door knobs. We are sorry is their stock answer for all problems. Again, great service, limited menu, but worth the view and service. Worst resort ever. The grounds of the hotel almost seemed abandoned? The room was clean, comfortable bed, with oversized robes..spa services. In the early morning (830am) house keeping walkie talkies could be heard right outside our door and continued to disrupt sleep well past 1030 in the morning. Champagne and chocolate covered strawberries were waiting in our room for our celebration! Also had to endure meals next to people that used racial slurstwice. Nice location and very calming by the water! The staff are wonderful out of this world. In addition, I made sure to call for housekeeping prior to us going out to dinner. 5* prices, 3* attitudes. Views were nice from parts of the hotel but not worth the money. Overall definitely not the experience we were hoping for and would not recommend staying here.

We enjoyed lunch at the pool the first day and it was amazing. After the brief and disappointing self-guided tour we decided it best to crack a bottle of wine to drown our sorrows, so we searched for the bottle opener - no where to be found. Gorgeous property with great views of the bay and marina. The venue itself was amazingly decorated. Personalized service. Booked one of the pop up igloos on their firepit deck. Nice spot, but they need to update the hotel. After making our 5th trip to the front desk, the manager was no where to be found so Larry agreed to give us a round of drinks from the bar. When we asked to see if we could check in early, they literally laughed in our face which was a little rude (or maybe she was going crazy because they were understaffed)? Scuff marks all over the walls, the grout in the bathroom looked gross, room was dark, tub in the bathroom was one of those old dated tall tubs where you almost need a stepstool to climb over, no vent in bathroom, no outlets by nightstand, and couldn't even order room service because the menu in there was old. The service was very good a lovely waitress!!!! She is absolutely wonderful and we want to give her a million stars if we could. The pool was wonderful and the food was done exactly how I wanted it! Little pricey if I was going to head back for dinner or drinks with friends again. The host apologized and offered to sit us, it was too late for us, we did not want to get breakfast at the hotel restaurant. Very disappointed to leave a 3 star review, but it's based on expectations not being met. Id love to go the full 5 star because the place is BEAUTIFUL, but I paid $8.00 for a bottle of Narragansett Lager (6 pack is $5.69), Amazing atmosphere. Enough chairs in the pool area which has prompt food/drink waiters and is well kept. GUYS BECAUSE OF YOU I WILL BE BACK. It also looked like someone exploded a Coca Cola.. there was a brown dried substance dripping from a few of the walls. Just stayed there on 12/18 and found out after the fact they charge a $25.00 resort fee. Nice equipment and I had the place to myself which was great! Feel more like a motel. Ive only been here 4 hours but you can bet I will never return. Bait and switch. Goat Island is the best place in Newport to watch the sunset. Buttermilk chicken sandwich was the best I ever had. Not all it's cracked up to be.Would attend function or 'pop' over for a drink..That's it.. Everyone should feel welcome. Gross honestly. Staff was very friendly and responsive. Towels are hand crafted from sand paper. (Original) Bathroom is all wet. Thats not what a manager should do. The patio and outdoor area is beautiful with fantastic views. I'll be back in the summer. Thankfully, a gentleman name Luc Parlange heard the conversation and jumped in to assist my wife. The room was very comfortable. For the price that they charge I was incredibly unimpressed and truly disappointed. The sea bass and oysters were to die for. The hotel appears to be a 2-3 star hotel with just the Gurneys name applied as a right to overcharge. A/C wasnt working and engineer came and removed the most filthy filter. STAY SOMEWHERE ELSE! : "welcome to standard king size bed, no balcony, no view of the bay". Dirty carpet. The Gurney is lucky to have Dave and Chef Jackson. Gurney's definitely has the nicest hotel pool area in Newport although the downtown is a good 10 to 15 minute walk so consider that before you book your stay. No closet in room just and open area to hang clothes. Went there for my cousin's wedding. - Cons: unprofessional staff (including valet, reception, waitersetc). (Original) Firstly, the experience at Gurney's was good. I found a live child in my salad and the manager had to come and throw him away and get me a new salad. We ate dinner at the restaurant which was meh, I ordered the Alaskan halibut and was treated to a piece of fish that was obviously left in the pan on one side too long, on top it had a hard inedible crust, on the bottom it had no signs of cooking, however the fish was fully cooked to the point of being dry, halibut is a fairly moist fish and should be glistening, this may as well have been a piece of any old white fish the way it was prepared. TROUBLE, be silent, enjoy. Before we could even sit one night for a drink by the firepit, without even greeting us, the server said this is the last call. When I called not even an im sorry just a do you want them to come now.

The resort is situated in a perfect spot on the water. The only reason why I booked the spa at Gurney's was because I was promised a reservation for 4 people at the same time. I loved how professional they were and they were very helpful and understandable!! The music from the lobby was so loud we could hear the words to every song all night both nights. Our stay was satisfactory at best. Hammocks and lighthouse are fun. The rooms are underwhelming, I felt like I had been teleported to 1992 or something. My partner has a dietary restriction that they refused to accommodate with extremely simple substitution requests (he asked for a basic green salad and bread - and they stated they didn't have those things, even though they appear on the breakfast and lunch menus. We were there for a company function in the winter. Beautiful location but rooms outdated and small, hotel staff not very helpful, except for breakfast team who are very friendly, breakfast is very good bye. We only had lunch. Staff was pleasant. There are Adirondack chairs and fire pits outside to use while enjoying a drink and the views. Great Personnel at Gurney's a splendid service.

I hope others experience a more pleasant stay, but both of our experiences were not great. Great food, picturesque scenery out on the deck with fire pits.

I will find other accommodations when visiting the area. They didn't offer the 80 minute treatments anymore so 50 minute treatment was the only option. The food is terrific the service and staff helpful. Won't be coming back. Those attending the conference were given an option to buy breakfast. View is amazing, my humus came out with wilted vegetables and the service on the deck was slow. I would recommend a hotel closer to the center of town, as having to take a shuttle proved to be a drawback to the location. We recently celebrated our daughters wedding in Newport, RI, on New Years Eve. Pretty, good service, but small outdated rooms, End of the season, was nice and quiet. Second time visit the place, still adore the magnificent view from the dinning deck facing the bridge. Very upset with new owners stayed hear since double tree owned property. Its a let down after the lovely room and day in the amazing Seawater Spa. Not good.. My fianc booked this resort for a surprise wedding proposal. Our safe never worked. Highly recommend! She was very professional and made everything really easy. The service was above par. I have never been treated better than at this Gurneys. Since we were exhausted from our day of travel and had already booked different accommodations for the next two days, we did not attempt to bring up the issues with the hotel staff for assistance, so I cannot speak to customer service on that front and will give them the benefit of the doubt that they would have done their best to make things right. I can't wait to go back next year during the summer months. But ridiculous how youre put on a deadline. Always a pleasure spending time here at Gurneys! This hotel did not make us feel welcomed in any stage of our staying and the restaurant was overpriced and not that good. Bonito hotel en Newport. Pre-COVID they had a shuttle running downtown every 1/2 hour and valet service. No pad. The BEST Scarpetta server Eva! The restaurants were also disappointing with mediocre food and spotty service. My parents also stayed at Gurney's -- their room, inexplicably half as expensive, was a very pleasant suite facing the water. For a 2 night stay in July its at least $2200. The real estate and views are fabulous and the staff outstanding. Their signature restaurant never opened for the season. Having the ceremony and venue in the same location made the wedding day so smooth. It pains us to say that this resort isn't at our expectations for the Gurney's name. I stayed in 1321 which has a view of the light house. It used to be a Double Tree or Hyatt. better else where. and if I'd been with a pre-teen or an elderly person they would not have been able to operate the door. Getting married at Gurney's Newport was amazing, ten stars across the board! Loved Scarpetta! You made our weekend. I would highly recommend!

Really loved our stay, staff were excellent and the rooms were comfortable and well decorated. Goat island isn't close to the shops/restaurant for walking. The customer service was friendly and kind despite it being a busy afternoon. Food was decent but not great for how pricey it is.

The well situated, spaced, and graded outdoor patio seating is decently enclosed with individual spacious igloo tents that both young and mature seem to coo with a request to fairytale dine. For $11 in a very upscale hotel, there was absolutely no value. Clean, great health and safety covid precautions, awesome food and friendly staff. You need bartenders at your pool bar that can serve ppl that is used to efficient service. The two female waitstaff we encountered were rude and surly, and that is me being polite. Love gurneys Newport. When we called to question the additional charges on our bill after our return home, the front desk manager Victor was extremely rude, condescending, and unprofessional. Still under construction and kinks still need to be worked out. There is an easy shuttle that you can take that runs every 30 mins right to the wharf downtown. So, why am I writing a review. service is excellent. The way Chef Phillip Jackson prepared it was out of this world good. The rooms and bathrooms are very narrow. Would definitely stay here again though as it is a very nice property! This is why I would not expect good service in the hotel due to my encounter at the spa. Booked this place as a romantic getaway, and instead spent most of the weekend trying to find a place to enjoy expensive drinks without being disturbed by baby strollers or kids running and screaming around the lobby, patio and hotel bar and restaurant. Nice decor. We are already planning for our next luncheon!!! It was a very nice gesture to feed the families of Newport while they were unable to cook. Wonderful place, looking forward to going back. The layout was comfortable & relaxing. We had a very enjoyable stay this weekend, would have liked to have stayed longer. The outdoor amenities were nice, including the fire pits and igloos which you could enjoy without pressure to purchase a drink - as it should be since they have a "resort fee." After going back and forth with her several times, we agreed to place a to go order (aka I would pick up the food and sit outside, rather than her merely deliver the food). I couldnt have loved my time here any more. Have to co-sign the 'overpriced, under-delivered' sentiment in other comments. I had to go off the resort in pain to get something to eat unfortunately. gurneysresorts gurney Very cozy rooms and great staff. Took over an hour to get a cocktail and management didnt seem to care. Scarpettis was delicious, w nice ambiance. Hotel rate should be lowered if you arent getting the services youre actually paying for. The rooms are a motel at best. Very odd. We also tried to sit outside at night on the patio and the light outside didn't work. Luckily I had one in my bag, so I popped the bottle and looked for the glassware - no where to be found. We have been coming to this Marriage Retreat Getaway for several years and stayed at this location. Only a minor grip with lukewarm shower temperature. Quite expensive on food and drinks. Shame if they do nothing. I was so disappointed in our recent stay at Gurney's that I'm writing my first ever google review. You need a reservation for everything and everything is booked. Husband had a burger and was in the bathroom sick all night. Also, no concierge. 10/10 I would suggest providing your own self care (shampoo body wash lotion), Delicious food.

One day it started raining while sitting poolside and we just ordered food right before the storm came. Great view, and lovely setting. Halie muy Bien, y Esta muy flaca <3. Great spot. Order your beverages quickly because they are a bit slow. The bathroom was small with almost no counter space. Come here every year for our Big January company meeting never disappointed. Take notice and be more observant of your customers. We did not expect that at all. Dingy rooms, indifferent staff and room rates that are way too expensive for what you get. Climate control in room is bi-polar. Nice place, most of the rooms have been newly renovated, bathrooms were their weak point, not quite as clean as I would have expected for the price. I'll attend next year, if I can. They said ok. Left came back In 2 hours and it wasnt done. Which ran about 400 ish after labor day. Too bad we had AWFUL service by one of their waitresses. Booking a king size Bala only room was a rip off as the seagulls crapped all over the outside balcony. Lamentations 3:22?-?24 The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. The box spring is not cover, and is very dirty .

She made us feel like royalty the entire weekend of our wedding. This place needs assistance with customer assistance. We received the dish which was made up of 2 nearly paper-thin slices of apple, atop 2 thin puff pastry pieces, a broken piece of brittle and a minute, melting scoop of ice cream sloshing on the plate. It was not 10 or 15 minutes worth - it litterally went on all day. A huge disappointment, as I was looking forward to this spa treatment. Its easy to rent skates. When we asked they brought us 2 without. Had a great time, definitely will be back. We wouldve been better off staying at the Marriott. The fridge is behind a cupboard door so it blends in nicely with the other furniture. We walked through the hotel lobby and outdoor igloos to get to the rink. Would go back again ???? The kids really enjoyed the indoor pool. Restrooms: In need of updating..Small bugs walking on floor/everywhere (Original) Very professional and accomodating. Tambin hasta tiene una pista de patinar es excelente. I really enjoyed the food, drinks and beautiful view but the customer service could have been a better! You get what you expect for the price for a resort on the water. Walls within the room offer little privacy while in the bathroom, so this seems like an overall flaw of the hotel. We had a lot of valuable jewelry. Very bad customer service and systems to ensure the integrity of a reservation. Have a drink at the pineapple bar in the Summer to enjoy the grounds and stay somewhere else. We left dinner with full bellies and happy hearts. The pillows and bed were amazing. Also, the pool was completely empty , also a beautiful view. Only complaint is that the walls are incredibly thin, so you hear every sound from accompanying rooms while in your own room at night. Day EVER more things happened but minor. Outstanding location and view of the Bay. Upon arrival we were told no room upgrade would be given. We will be back. Thank you! They did not. We had a little food and spent a few hundred dollars in total. The amenities are excellent Front staff very helpful, waitress and waiters excellent. The outdoor pool is very nice. I love it here! We then had dinner at the restaurant. We Had a 2 story Room, which sounds nice. Would recommend to anyone visiting. I thought I was going on a peaceful vacation. 10/10. Since they couldnt accommodate a 2 top for 2 nights in a row, we had to have a drink outback. The staff were all friendly and helpful, guiding me to the different areas of the building. Has great views of Narragansett bay. Great place to stay or visit. New staff is everywhere and the service is terrible everywhere. When staying in Newport this place is worth every dollar, we enjoy staying here and we will be back soon. Went to pineapple's for the sunset. Gurney's was fantastic. Also the bathrooms and restaurant could have been MUCH cleaner. 10+++, Phenomenal view, albeit I'm from Illinois so I'm easily impressed, room very nice. The windows are non-functional, which for a hotel by the water is just such an awful waste of potential. The restaurant was clean and very good. We went for Mothers Day brunch. It was absolutely disgusting. Finally, I went down and was treated with disdain. - Generally speaking, the prices were out of proportion to the service provided. To start the room was dirty. Our appetizers arrived in a timely manner but then our main courses didnt arrive for another 1 hour. Convinient shuttle to restaurants every half hour. Definitely does not live up to the Gurneys reputation. The resort needs some updating - worn furniture, floors dull and in need of replacing. The interior is wonderfully decorated and the view of the water is also incredible. Another staff member close to the bar brought my husband and I a cup of soda when we asked. We paid almost $1700 for two nights at what I imagine is one of the worst rooms in the hotel.
