The hookup to the shop vac runs about 3" through the lid. I added sealant even over the factory joint that had the tape gasket. Something went wrong. both hoses slip fit to the threaded side of the couplers on my parts list without modification. I got that from a youtube video. So I started watching for the big cabinet to get at or below $200 and didnt have to wait too long before it was shown for $189 and armed with a 20% coupon I jumped on it --- OH it is SWEET!! Went over to the small cabinet and borrowed its gun and worked perfectly - its one of the simple bucket siphon type and sell on ebay for about $20. I do plan on converting my blaster over to a vapor blaster in the future, which requires the cabinet to also be water leak proof. I just use one of these on a 5 gallon bucket and a shop vac.works great!
When assembling the cabinet I highly recommend using some sort of sealer on every single joint. I did add some silicone to some areas. Configure a dust collection system. Connect a large shop vac to it that can handle all the dust.
