What a great idea! I just clip the remote switch to my work apron and it's a breeze to start and stop the collector now.
It even works through walls! Excellent!! The dust collecter is about 30 feet from my heaviest dust and shaving producers so now I will be able to use it instead of thinking it would be easier to go ahead and make a little mess and clean it up later.
This really saves time.

Using a Grizzly G1029/2HP collector. The remote control has a clip that I put on my shirt button, so it is quite handy. It uses the same technology that is used in your garage door opener. His look is rugged, earthy and retro much like the furniture he creates. It saves steps from not going to the dust collecter to turn it on. At first it worked fine, but as time passed it began to fail, and work inconsistently. 30-Gallon Dust Collection 2 Stage Separator.
I must admit that I do not always get this right. No instructions included, but pretty simple to hook up. Great for remotely starting/stopping my dust collection when using my saw, jointer, planar, sander, vacuuming the shop floor, etc. However, a very minor issue.
I use this to turn on my 3 hp dust collector.
I do find that I need to systematically open the right blast gate, close the others, and turn on the dust collector before turning on the machine.
Now I see the merits of wiring the blast gate to the dust collector. I carry the key bob in my pocket, and simply push the button when I open the blast gate.
I am able to turn it on from anywhere in the shop. is back-ordered. I have a 20 by 40 shop with this remote installed on the other side of a wall.
This is my thrid remote, it seems to be a much better unit than the others.

It alows me to put my dust collection system in a back corner and save space in my workshop. Because I am now more likely to turn off the dust collecter when I am not using it I save electricity. What a time saver! I once installed those metal blast gates with the hard wired low voltage switches that when activated by sliding the blast gate open, would activate another switch that would then turn on my dust collector.
It never fails. Saves time and steps.

The only down side is that the mounts for attaching to the wall are a little hokey. If you havent heard of woodworker Jory Brigham, dont worry you will.
My Jet 1200 dust collector has the on/off switch placed near the floor. *Quoted freight applies to the lower 48 states only. Plug the remote base unit into a power source, plug your dust collector into the base unit and set the collector's switch to "On." Option could be made available for plugs and sockets to suit target country, but apart from that, a very good unit. I just received this remote switch and I can not believe that I waited 13 years to pick one of these things up!
I love it. The 220V unit will operate dust collectors up to 3HP. Couldn't be simpler to set up and use. Every time you need to start your dust collector you're on the other side of the shop. The base unit includes a 6-foot cord and mounting tabs so it can be mounted to the wall. What a great idea!
This is a fine device.
Simply press the "On"/"Off" button on the key fob and your dust collector responds accordingly. Appears to be a very good unit, which enabled the dust extraction to be operated remotely.
